This was so much better than the cave. By a long-shot. While he was pretty sure Yusei and Jaden had to deal with some wonderful thuds on their ceilings as he ran around his room upstairs, he enjoyed the space very much. Having all of his things… what was once just a cave, was now his man cave, and boy, did he love it.
… He loved having a place to call home.
It was a rare moment for the little Blue Devil – sprawled backwards, quills against nylon, as he actually relaxed and remained relatively chill as he looked at the DC comic hero for somewhere around the seventh time, drinking in the adventure for all it’s worth and looking at all the details, rather than wanting to see it through to the end as fast as possible as usual.
He heard Yusei’s voice, and heard him come in, but didn’t react much until Yusei spoke up.
“Well, yeah! He’s only the greatest Superhero of all time!” He replied, raising his feet in excitement before rolling back around to look at Yusei directly with a smug grin.
“Besides me, of course. Excuse my bias~”
Yusei just chuckled, easing into his spot on the floor as he enjoyed his time with the hedgehog. “Humble as always, I see.”
It meant a lot see Sonic so happy after officially moving in with Yusei and Jaden. He had never had any doubts about it when he talked about it with his husband, but being able to just watch (and occasionally hear from the ceiling) how excited he was about it really tugged at his heart strings.
And Yusei would always be proud of that decision.
“I’ll try and find some of the other comics in that series then,” Yusei offered. “There’s a few crossover specials with the Flash that I’m sure you’d like.”
It was nice – to see him so relaxed after fighting tooth and nail for his freedom; for his protection, but nothing could beat the look on Sonic’s face when Yusei and Jaden surprised him with his new home. They had started adjusting to their new lifestyle for about a week, and Yusei had no regrets about it. Sonic’s company was always welcomed; he was a part of the family now, and Yusei was grateful for it. To have a family like had been a dream of his for a long time.
Jaden was out running a few errands, and with Yusei’s day off, the police officer decided to pay his friend a visit, so he made his way up into the attic to find the little blue hedgehog reading away and enjoying his comic books.
“Is Flash your favourite?” Yusei asked quietly, a small smile on his face as he walked over to Sonic and sat down next to him on the floor.
